Welcome to Juniper Beach Candle Co.! My name is Alyssa Stirpe, and I’m excited to share my journey with you.

Growing up, I spent my childhood summers at our family beach cabin on Juniper Beach, a hidden oasis on the Washington coast. The tides and salty breeze inspired my love for nature and tranquility, and those cherished memories laid the foundation for crafting eco-friendly candles that evoke the serenity of the shoreline.

With a background as a registered nurse, I have always prioritized health and well-being. After becoming a stay-at-home mom to my two wonderful sons, I sought a creative outlet that aligned with my values. It was then that I began making my own candles, driven by a desire for sustainable, eco-friendly, and cleaner-burning candles.

All About Hemp Wicks

Sustainability
Hemp is an exceptionally sustainable crop, requiring significantly less water and fewer pesticides than cotton. Its ability to grow quickly with minimal environmental impact makes it an ideal choice for environmentally friendly wicks.

Burn Quality
Hemp wicks provide a clean, steady, and even burn, resulting in a consistent and longer-lasting flame. Coated with premium organic beeswax (undyed), these wicks benefit from added stability and a protective layer that enhances their overall performance while maintaining a natural composition.

Reduced Soot Production
When properly trimmed and cared for, hemp wicks generate minimal soot compared to traditional cotton wicks. This means less residue on candle containers and surrounding surfaces, helping to maintain a cleaner burning environment.

Strength and Durability
Known for their robust and durable fibers, hemp wicks are designed to withstand extended use. Their natural strength ensures that the wick remains intact, providing reliable performance throughout the candle's lifespan.

All of our Candle Care Cards and Business Cards are printed on premium hemp stock paper that is composed of 90% post-consumer waste fibers and 10% hemp, combining quality and sustainability. Crafted from acid-free, lignin-free, and carbon-free materials, they ensure durability and longevity. Responsibly sourced from FSC-compliant forests, the paper supports environmentally sound production practices from start to finish. Proudly made in the USA.

Our pine candle lids are sourced from sustainably managed forests, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility. These lids are lightweight and biodegradable, ensuring minimal impact on the environment while maintaining both functionality and style. By choosing pine, we reduce reliance on non-renewable materials and promote a greener future, all while adding a natural and elegant touch to our candles.

Packaging Materials

We utilize craft paper boxes and craft crinkle paper sourced from recycled materials, which significantly reduces deforestation while minimizing landfill impact. Both options are biodegradable and compostable. Craft paper breaks down naturally and its lightweight nature further helps in reducing transportation emissions. Together, these materials offer effective packaging solutions while supporting our dedication to eco-friendly practices.
